House Plans - first draft

Our first draft of our plans. Many changes to be made including extending kitchen, centring windows, three awning windows to master bed, sliding door between wir and master ens, swinging laundry around, adding pantry to kitchen extension, and more.....
Not a bad first draft though - the house fits the block - that's a start!

8th May, 2011

We went for another road trip! We're hoping to do one trip a month-ish just to see what is changing each time we go there.

On this trip - much to our surprise -quite  a bit had been done! Stage 3 is quite a small stage and the whole area has been cleared of trees and fences, posts indicating blocks had been put down with markers for each block.
You can see where the current street extends to and where Hamish Ave joins another street (where the park will be). I can't wait till Hamish Ave is built through to Thewlis Rd too.

We were super excited to see OUR own 307 marker and couldn't help but get a photo!
I also took a shot of one of the display homes so we can track how much it will change within a month.
OOOOO and there was 1 person on Stage 1 that had moved in!! Many more houses are being built this trip and  the estate is really starting to take shape.

Still the pile of rubbish is there but you can see the mounds from mulching all the trees from our blocks

Some clearing done

Blairy checkin things out.

The post.

Me and one very expensive piece of wood...

 307.. that's us!
Ooo we own a post and block with our lot number on it.... um yay?

This is a photo of one of the display homes - I was curious to see how much would be done on it in a month..

In the beginning....

So we have bought a block of land- yay!

To give you the short story we decided Pakenham was the right option for us:
- The land is affordable
- There is a great variety of land and builders to choose from
- It would take a similar time to visit us from Geelong/Melbourne
- Can afford to buy it and have a family in the next decade!
- We would get a brand new house
- We wouldn't be living in someone elses yard or dealing with Builders Corp issues

So yes! After hunting around we found our small corner block in Stage 3 (407m) in Worthington Estate. The estate is close to shops an just off Princes Hwy - perfect for getting to work! Also there is going to be a primary school within the estate - very handy!

I wanted to create this blog to be able to track the progress of our build and share the 'story' with family and friends.

We went to visit our block on the 2nd of April. Our block is in stage 3 and they were only completing stage 2 at the time. Stage One has already been titled and settled and a couple of Display Homes had started being built and car parks were ready. Stage Two  had been cleared, roads were not sealed yet, no trees planted but all lot signs were up on the properties. Stage Three has had nothing done yet - still has rubbish form stage one and two demolitions on it. We could vaguely guess that our block was on the other side of the fence - a paddock at this stage!

Stage 3 - partially cleared
Stage 2 - not quite titled

Stage 3 - not much to look at yet!
